Hello all,

I have a few questions. Sorry if this is in the wrong section. I have done some searching and can't seem to find the answers im looking for. So here goes.

1. In iTunes, If i play a podcast or audiobook from my ipod (via itunes), and then play the same podcast in my car, it remembers the position. I can't seem to find a plugin that allows this behavior in winamp. (this is one of the main reasons I seem to stick with itunes even though I hate it).

2. Doing the same as #1 but from winamp to winamp runs. Basically tracks of any type do not remember positions. I have tried that time restore plugin, but it does not work the same. Itunes must be writing something to the file itself to set the position.

I guess im looking for the plugins that would best give me the functionality of itunes with an ipod but without having to use the itunes bloatware.

Thanks!
Radink

Try this one (thanks to DrO):

Time Restore & Autoplay (http://www.nunzioweb.com/daz/timerestore.html)

The name says it all...

Thanks Zack, but this is the plugin I tried before. I guess what Im looking for is called podcast bookmarking. If i listen to a podcast from my ipod via itunes and stop it, it marks the podcast file to remember it's position. Then when I take my ipod into the car, and play the podcast, it remembers where it left off. Even if I play music in the car 1st, it still remembers the position. I believe it's storing this data in the podcast file. As far as i know, itunes is the only media app that does this, but I SOOO hate itunes.

The plugin ml_iPod supports bookmarking on the iPod and it works well. I haven't tried it the way you are looking to do, but you might want to give it a try. You might also try listening to the podcast directly off the iPod through Winamp. That way any update would be written to the file on the iPod.

ml_iPod can be found at:

thanks bilbo that's the plugin i've been looking for so i could correctly sync my ipod with winamp (itunes is so boring and slow)
the built in plugin does not do the album art correctly and also does not sort the songs correctly in the ipod song view (on the device itself)

now we need to get the sansa express working for winamp the same way
