GUI Interface is Phailing on me. :D

Hey Hey Hey!

Right, ill not bother with chit chat about it

The simple problem is:
I enter my IP, which i WILL NOT DISCLOSE, in the sc_serv...config file, and the GUI PHAILS to even show up for more than like, hmm a second?

Well, i thought it might have been a dodgy download, i tried re-downloading, no fix. I tried re-installation completely, no fix. I tried entering the Any in the Dest. IP
and in SrC IP, it was 127.0.0.1

I cannot post the actual dialoge box, as THAT is the problem

The GUI interface, actually comes on, and instantly dissapears.

I did a search, somebody else had had the same problems, and so i looked, and no answer was given which applied to my problem. If anyone could help, i would be extremely greatful :D

Im on XP, and i AM administrator....

lol, hence why the other person's easy fix didnt apply to me, sorry i should have put that, what could i do?

does the gui work with ANY in src and dest ip ?

Also are you running in gui or console mode ?

tried both, neither shows any difference, it only seems to work when i run it internally. I dont think port forwarding will be a problem, as more or less everything runs smoothly with my RangeMax WRL Netgear

ah so when the src and dest are set to ANY
it works ?

you need to post the output of your log files
They will be found in c:\\program files\shoutcast\sc_serv.log
if you havent changed the defaults.

Just open that in a text editor and post it here.

Hmm.That would be gay, could it be MSN? im not sure to be honest. but i never knew the Fatal Error was there, i would have searched for that. Considering i already have this thread, would you mind advising me?

could it be a simple as there is already an sc_serv
running in the backround ?

if not you need to find what is using 8001 or try
to change you main port from 8000 to say 9000
and see if that fixes the problem.
Remember also if it does work to setup port forwarding
for your new ports ;)

you can find out what ports are being used
by opening a command prompt run>cmd and then
type:
netstat -a

try turning off any firewall you have on your pc and
try to see if the error happens again if not its a firewall
blocking issue.

Tried no firewalls - No fix
Tried resetting the ports with no firewalls - no fix
Tired the netstat cmd, anything BUT port 8000 or 9000.
and yet again, each time

Although, my friend on a game ive recently been playing, this habbo retro, pheonix or something, has suggested, no TOLD ME, lol, that it is impossible to host via my own PC, as it is in breach of something like a "Shell." What do you reckon?
If i cant do this, what should i do it on, a laptop, the second PC in my house? i have a laptop and another PC i could use.

Though laptop is Vista, and ive read of the fact that SC doesnt like Vista much, to be honest neither do i, it is slow, but im going off topic. What should i do?

Ive exausted the ideas i have because i dont know
exactly how your machine is setup(software).

Do a forum search with the error and see what it comes up with you may find something that will help :)
