oscilliscope is dead/cant restore

The oscilliscope no longer works. I attempted to remove winamp using the system program remover, then tried removing all associated winamp files, but still no working oscilliscope. The also affects any visualization plugin as no frequency spectrum can be seen, leaving images static.

Is the scope dead for all types of files? I have the same problem but only with cd's, my mps's work fine. I hope we can figure this out.

just a note for any future troubleshooting you do: uninstalling the application hardly ever solves the problem.

if the problem is that you don't get visualization with a cd, go to preferences -- plug-ins -- input: nullsoft cd/linein. make sure that the "sample input from soundcard" is checked. you should now have visualization if your soundcard can handle it.

does the eq not work for one type of file, or all files? did you remember to turn the eq on?
