Hi -- can someone help me understand how to insert an image into a message I want to post on a thread on a forum? I have a .JPG that I have on my own PC but I can't figure out how to insert it into my message. I click the IMG button which seems to be the way to do it, but a dialog then appears:

Script prompt:
Enter the text to be formatted:
[ IMG ]xxx[ /IMG ] (spaces added)

…along with an edit box that looks like it wants a URL. I have no idea how to use any of this to insert the .JPG file I have on my PC. What do I type between the IMG tags, and what URL do I specify in the edit box? Could someone help? Thanks.

Yes, you start with img then you put the location of the image then you close with /img

So in between the IMG tags I put the filepath on my own PC of the .JPG? I thought that might be right, but when I did that and clicked on Preview Reply it only showed the literal text that I typed (the pathname between the IMG tags) without resolving it to the actual image.

Either host it somewhere on line and use the url of the file, or simply add it as an attachment to a post.

Press the 'post a reply' button instead of using the quick reply box.

When using the 'post a reply' option you will see a 'attach file' box underneath the reply window, hit the 'browse' button, find the file on your pc and upload it.

Maximum file size: 200000 bytes

Valid file extensions: gif jpg png txt zip rar bmp jpeg wsz wal m maki nsi nsh 7z xml wlz milk

Right -- I didn't want to attach it because my understanding is that it then wouldn't display in the body of the message. Am I right?

So if you don't send it as an attachment, the only other choice is that it has to already be on another web site on the internet somewhere? There's no way to have the message upload an image from my PC and thereby display it in the body of my message?

Thanks for the help; this is my first time doing this.

Shiny, Shiny, Shiny!

A bit of topic, please forgive me.

Just wondering, Mr. Jones. Got new boots?
