I just toyed around with Auto Tagging for the first time and loved it. But.... I found that I wanted more, specifically the following... :D
A configuration GUI that allows for:
1) Selection between multiple databases to pull information from (is there more than just gracenote?). Maybe pull from multiple DBs and select best fit?
2) Easy identification of preselected fields that are different between the Old and New tags.
A) Using color highlighting. So if I run auto tagger on 100 songs, and I've configured it to highlight the files in Red if the Artist field is different between Old and New, the filename in the filename view area will be highlighted in red (for quick and easy identification of which and how many files have new artist info). And, after selecting a red highlighted filename, the Artist fields in the tag view area are highlighted red (For easy acquisition after selecting the specific file). Now you should be able to assign multiple coloring schemes to multiple field differences. Example: Red for Artist differences. Yellow for Album differences. Orange for when both Artist and Album are different. Colors and fields assignments are user configurable, of course, cause Joe only cares about artists, album, title, and track changes, while Bob only cares about Genre changes.
B) Alternatively, you could just have a configurable matrix/chart to the left or right of the filenames. The configurable matrix would allow you to select tag fields as column headings. Then, if a certain file's artist field changes, a check is put in the cell for that file's row under the artist column. When I've selected "artist" as one of my column headings, of course.
3) Auto-apply new tag updates for the subset of files in which there are no differences in a user preselected selection of fields. If there are no changes in the tag fields: {Artist, Album, Title, and Track} I want Auto Tag to auto apply the update without asking me (Or making me push apply). Again, the user gets to select which fields are important to them.
4) Editable Tag fields in the New tag field view area (I think this is already on the wishlist).
