I have a multimedia keyboard. What are the keyboard commands so that I can play using the buttons normally reserved for the CD player?
I'm not talking about the normal keyboard shortcuts. What I'm looking for would let me use Winamp globally.

You know, I am just writing in sympathy here. I have went through multiple keyboards, and none of them seem to come with software that controls winamp!!! I know it is possible, I've seen it, but there have got to be a set of drivers out there that will do it for you. If ANYONE finds them, please email the site to me at Air1269@yahoo.com

system-wide commands for winamp can be found here (http://www.winamp.com/nsdn/winamp2x/dev/sdk/api.jhtml) Looks like you can do very basic things using the command line but in order to really control winamp you have to know C++

Let me guess you have the honeywell multimedia keyboard... hrmm i wana do exactly the same... i got it to work with sonique, but only in win2k it wouldnt work in 98
I know that if you get the InteliType Pro keybaord you can control winamp with it... but it costs about $60 American or something... pretty expensive huh!
im thinking about getting one... anyway WINAMP SHOULD HAVE COMMAND LINE... you hear that DEV TEAM I WANT COMMAND LINE!!!
that will be all :/

Yes..This is disconcerting too for me. I have a Compaq Presario and a multimedia keyboard. It would be so cool to use those built-in keyboard buttons. Whenever I push em', it loads up Windows Media Player. If anyone finds a solution for this, email me at: scott_hutchinson@hotmail.com.

I feel even more frustrated, because I already got my Compaq Presario MP3 keyboard to work with Winamp once. It used to work on and off, but now it no longer goes. I don't know what might have changed. Of course, it still works with MediaPlayer and the included RioPort.
So, that answer that it can't be done is wrong. I had it working once.

Hello.
I am using a MS natural keyboard with multimedia keys, and they all work well.
In fact I switched from using Sonique to Winamp because of this.
