Unfortunately, this is true also for some .wav files I tried to listen to. RealPlayer and the Win98 MediaPlayer can't play them either, only Window Media Player can. Maybe it is a different format. I hope the WinAmp CRACKS can help us... http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/frown.gif

I wish that someone could come up with a answer to this as I also am having this problem.

As I said in another post, good luck...Nullsoft seems to be ignoring this or is just neglecting to tell us what is going on...

Whatever this problem is, it wrecks Realplayer, sonique, Ultraplayer, etc as well and starts once Winamp is installed.

Same problem. It only seems to be happening on the .wav files. God help us all.

Please don't get mad if it doesn't work or if this is totally useless, but maybe you are missing some codecs for WinAmp?

If you have the Lite version of WinAmp, than maybe upgrading to the full version works??

Again, sorry if it doesn't help, and don't kill a nice guy who's just trying to help (me http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/smile.gif)

Try uninstalling winamp and download the latest version of Winamp and install it. This ususlly takes care of configuration problems. Check under Winamp options/preferences/file types. insure .wav is blue/selected. Hope this helps you out.

Solution:
I got the hook-up
Check out http://members.aol.com/networldb/winampfix.html There is a verified fix there. It worked for me (Windows 98 SE).
