Good Evening,
If you would like to start my own internet radio station without the hassle of running it on my own server. Can anybody recommend such a third party where I'll get a definate bang for my buck?
Thanks in advance,

You cant cut a deal for that good of a bandwidth...
You would lose MASSIVE (pun intended) money on bandwidth alone. I'm just a consumer and I can figure that out.
Thats not including your cost of server renting (Im assuming your a reseller) and even then, you would need a nice DataCenter to set that computer up with the pipeline to handle that much bandwidth.
I don't buy it.
Hell, I will fork out 7 pounds just to write a review in broadcasting world. I'll see you soon.

what is this it is so cheap i am getting abuse....
i have my own server i am not a (reseller),
i have unlimited bandwidth,
write a review in broadcasting world..that really doesnt bother me.
my server runs on intel quadcore processers
4gb vitesta memory
gigabyte mobo board,
1terra byte hdd...
400mbps keep alive connection straight into my pci slot on my board
this is a basic package just a stream provided,no website and no statistic scripts..
are well i am not going to take abuse for trying to give fellow broadcasters a good deal on my own server...

Its not abuse, its doubt.
I'll give you a shot.
Im going to buy slots than use my relote server to stream to it. Then I can tune in and listen for 4 hours.
If are doing the voodoo you say you are, I wont doubt you.

Ok Im doing test now...
1000 listeners,224kps
I once saw a similar deal and decided to have fun and test.
I fired up an nsv stream playing family guy,set the bitrate
to 500 kbps and within a weekend i had used up all of the hosts actual allocated bandwidth.
I dont see abuse in this thread i see common sense,i advise anyone who thinks they can get 1000 listeners@225k for £7
a month to actualy google and find out how much bandwidth is
for hosting companies per Mbit in the real world.

so you are telling us you can offer 220 Mbps for £7.
what i think is happening here is you may have a GigE connection to the server but if you were to run this for any period of time you will get shut down faster than an Alquieda training shop in town!!
if you have 3 streams available at 1000 x ~225k then you are looking at ~750 Mbps.
i will warn you now if you continue this offer then you will be sunk if someone takes up the offer,
Unlimited bandwidth does not exist.
if you would like me to put it to the test then pop us over an ip and port and i will load it up with listeners and see how fast you get cut off.
its not abuse its just friendly advice ;)

That must be sailers server problems that..i hanbuilt this machine..
i am not a pro but i know i have a good set-up..
i do know now though i need a dedicated server for shoutcast server now ,i run port 80 apache aswell..
to test the server...
i am streaming now for the next 24 hours,
no buffering will occur.
i have upped the frequency to 256kbps
to give this thing a blast..
details:http://spam:8000/
listen with winamp:http://spam:8000/listen.pls
i was looking at the server reading while testing and sailer was connected all the time apart from a computer upgrade 20 mins time..
everyone who connected stayed on a while..
test the listen links for yourself...hear any buffering?

you should allow them submitted links for review, trust no buffer for 24 hours..it is an amazing product though shoutcast and winamp..a real joy to the internet

and i know what you mean about bandwidth, and for some reason £7 keeps popping up gosh i would give it away for free ,i like music,i dont need the money,i was simply trying to offer a fellow broadcaster a chance for cheap radio,
JKEY and NICK
that is some great advice.and it is greatly appreciated..
test the listen links..broadcating form my server

I would give up while you can.
I am listening, note the only person connected at the moment, and it is buffering every second.
I have noticed, and this may explain it ...
The IP address associated with
http://spam:8000/
is hosted on the end of a DSL line ...
netname: BT-CENTRAL-PLUS
descr: IP pools
country: GB
admin-c: BTCP1-RIPE
I am a little confused, I thought you have unlimited bandwidth ..... perhaps the host you have put above is incorrect.

Yup I sure do hear buffering! Every 1 or 2 seconds it buffers. I'm beating the hell out of it right now. ANd by the way, it isn't my connection as I'm on a 50mb connection right now and keep maxing out the Speedtest servers, Finally found one that would rate the connection up to 30mbps then decided to try over seas servers. Here's one around Amsterdam and pulled a solid 10mbps every time I tested through it. You can just barely make out that the stream says it is buffering in the Winamp tab at the bottom of the image, says buffering 60%!
I'm actually really surprised that all your posts are still here. I labeled you as a dirty rotten spammer last night, and now since we can see that you can't provide what you offered that would also be a dirty rotten scammer! (if it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck...)

Well after about an hour of buffering it finally stopped, either the stream was taken down or I was banned.
shut down faster than an Alquieda training shop in town
LoL Nick.
Greg_E i dealt with last nights post, but i want to let this thread run for a while as it can be informative for people who can get suckered into similar hoaxes.

It was more than just this thread, every single post from join day had the same crap in it. That's why I reported it yesterday, a single thread and I probably would have let it slide and let the dogs attack when we had the results that we have, but there were 5 in rapid succession yesterday which says to me spammer/scammer.
Maybe this should be re-titled and made a sticky! "How not to pick the lowest priced host".
That said some of the hosting companies are really getting the prices down, used to cost an arm and a leg, now some of them are down to just fingers and pocket change. And this from real established hosts with a good track record. Couple that with the ever growing support for aac+v2 and it is getting back to where people can really do this as a hobby. Now if only the licensing would follow!

Just to let you know.
Here's exactly how I test a server.
I point the IP of my autoDJ with (name of AutoDJ host). This is an actual server in a datacenter with a program designed to stream to a server rather than be relayed.
Premium bandwidth.
I send a stream to the server through this program and tune in on the stream. Then listen in. If it sounds stable, I make a widget for the stream, and put it on a non public HTML page.
Then I check my widget every 1 hour to see if it got knocked offline. A player tuned into the stream will buffer, but a widget will strait out get dropped.
Then after 24 hours, I know how well they handle. A lot of new internet providers claim 99.9 percent up time. HOWEVER A little oversold bandwidth sometimes doesn't show, and thats why as a consumer I am PASSIONATE about my testing being accurate. I honestly want you to succeed. I want to find a good deal, though I am in a very well suited comfort zone at this point, and like to control the server I am on, just to learn the ropes of development and concepts of streaming.
So don't get me wrong, I am not booing your efforts, I am just a concerned consumer.
As far as advertising, Their are TONS of places to go. '
From radio tool box, to broadcasting world, to the new http://roxu.us/ (this looks like a good idea if it takes off, launch is June 1)
Advertising in winamp forums is kinda like bringing a Smut mag to a poetry slam. Some things just don't work.
And before you say it, why is it that moderators can mention their services? When you have 365 days a year of offering in depth help to Jr. broadcasters and web host alike for free to a service you provide, I think its fair to have a couple of perks.
