plugin upload limit [Archive]

been wondering if it's a temporary bug or by design: the winamp plugin site does not allow me to upload a file with 2115kb. is there some kind of upload limit?

Yes, there is a limit, but I don't know what it is at.

the thing is, i don't get any warning. the upload dialog comes up again, asking me to read the red instructions. but there are none!

ok, as a workaround i have created a downloader which i uploaded to winamp.com

hope that doesn't get rejected!

the limit used to be around 2-3Mb but was bumped to 6Mb at one point though i'm guessing it was probably reverted to ~2Mb when things were redesigned for some reason.

i personally don't like a downloader to another package but that's down to whoever is going to review avs packs as to whether it goes through or not (thankfully not my decision).

there's a 5Mb installer in the queue so might be an issue with the upload on your end or the site just being evil, can't really say so maybe the 6Mb limit is still there...
