I've recently installed the latest version of winamp (2.64) & it plays normally until I press the start button or minimize a window or do anything that creates a windows sound. When I do this the sound keeps repeating itself & won't stop until I restart windows (98). In the last version of winamp I had, the windows sounds were 'silenced' and winamp played fine. Does anyone have any idea on how 2 solve this? http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/confused.gif

are you using the waveout or directsound plug-in?

Mr Ice: It doesnt matter which plugin I use - it still does the same thing.

hmm. that shouldn't happen if you're using the directsound output. try updating your directx version to 7.0a (http://www.microsoft.com/directx/homeuser/downloads/default.asp) if you don't already have it, and make sure you have the most recent drivers for your soundcard.
