If I'm downloading something from the internet be it a file or email, every time that I run Winamp and press the play button ALL my download traffic STOPS ! If I press stop then 1-2 seconds later it resumes.

Anybody got any ideas?
It happens with version 2.03, 2.09, 2.091 and my current version 2.50c.
Don't tell me to install the latest version, that ain't a fix for my problem

Thanks.

Not sure but it is worth a shot.
Open Winamp
Press Ctrl + P
Click on "Setup"
Click on "No Internet connection available"
This will make it so Winamp will not connect, and hopefully it will fix your problem.

Been there done that, thanks Tom.

It's the same what ever settings I use on the have/have not internet connection screen.

I think I've had this problem for some time now but I've only just noticed it.It's the same on fresh installs of Win95,98 and 98se.

I installed Windows and only installed Winamp and it's still the same.

Have you already checked for conflicts between your modem/network card and sound card? Other than that, I don't know what to tell you, perhaps someone that had a similar problem will be along to help you out.

Yeah, Tom sounds like he's onto something. check in your device manager and make sure that your sound card and modem (or ethernet card) are not trying to use the same IRQ. Other than that i'm stumped

IRQ list is as follows.
0 system timer
1 Keyboard
2 PIC
3 Com2
4 Com1
5 Free
6 Floppy
7 Terratec sound card
8 Real time clock
9 Terratec synthesizer
10 Promise fasttrak raid controller
11 TV card and TNT2 Ultra
12 PS2 mouse
13 NDP
14 IDE primary
15 IDE secondary

All is as it should be. I've taken the TV card out (it was the only conflict) and it made no difference. Any more ideas ?

Hello Don1!
I had the same problem as you, winamp stopped all my current downloads. I tried almost everything, but nothing helped. Then I had a problem with one of my games, so I downloaded the latest sound card drivers, and the problem dissepeared (or how you spell it, I'm from Sweden so I don't know) http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/smile.gif
If you haven't tried that, do! It worked for me...

I have found the root of the problem.
It's not the drivers directly but the onboard eeprom.
The card eeprom needs a reset !

Don't worry I have fixed it. it seems a simple Driver update was the answer.
