Live DJ and sc_trans

I am running the sc_trans beta 6. When a DJ connects to sc_trans it fades over from playlist to the live DJ. Song titles are showing perfectly but.... the name of the DJ is not passing through sc_trans to the live shoutcast server showing who is DJ'ing. It keeps the name of the sc_trans config setting from the playlist( Example "Playlist Hitz" instead of showing "DJ Frosty".

If the DJ connects directly to the live shoutcast server, which I don't want, the DJ name does actually show.

Any ideas on how to fix this or something I might have missed in the configuration that pertains to this problem?

No, you haven't missed anything. The DJ name does not get passed through (not entirely true, but I'd need to write a few pages on the protocol to explain).

Is this something that could be corrected? I have seen in the past that a relayed server will not pass the DJ name on. Is this the same concept?

In the classic shoutcast protocol there just isn't any mechanism at all. It could be done by changing the stream title (which I believe is what you're really asking for here), but the reasons that cannot be done in the classic protocol have been discussed in the forums many times in the past so I won't rehash it here. Part of the new protocol that's being developed was supposed to address this issue and many others. The new protocol has a mechanism to pass pretty much anything through, but support on the client side has now become a blocking factor.

Hate to beat a dead horse, but is there a work around, at all, that could show that DJ is on the stream instead of the play list from sc_trans?

If it is discussed in another thread, toss me a reference pointer to find and I will do some more reading.

Please stop, the horse is practically liquified already :-)

You could have the DJ embed his name/callsign into the song titles, but there's
nothing you can do to change the stream title at this point.

Been a couple of months. Any updates I should be aware of that could help with this problem? Neil, you mentioned client side being the issues. Is there any updates on that side that helps with this?
