A New Work from me - Couple Hours in Photoshop
Let me introduce you to Bleak...Currently still just a pipe dream but, coming together interesting enough. I haven't yet placed anything other than my ideas...so, ya here is to hoping that this works out.

So, Now I have numbers area mocked and the visualization and volume have been added to show where I am going again...this is all preliminary and moving fairly quickly as it has been a long time since I have done anything.

Okay, more of the main and eq have been updated...I've also started the numbers, cbutton row and more...kind of going all over and doing some shading, brushing and etc.

Oh, nice design. Sort of abstractedly evokes the idea of a sports car. I like it.

Okay, so I have been doing alot to the concept...
I've added more highlights, shadowing, metal work and sharpening. Still alot of post work to go. I have also, concentrated on the buttons area quite a bit more and the textual display area. As I didn't like the seperation quite as much as I thought, I have reverted to a more aesthetic view (or so I believe). I've finished more of the playlist and made it sharper...though, again much more is required for eq and playlist...mostly I will likely remove the highlights behind the gun-metal gray areas and tie it more in with the 3d view that I am going for.
In any event here it is as it currently stands.
edited: I have updated it as I suggested I would and removed the highlights from the eq/pl...I have also removed the mains 3d visual area (top titlebar)...as though, it was nice did not blend the textual well and left me fighting the design for real-estate...so, I have changed it slightly as well.

Which one?
With Metal Enhance? Or Without?

I'm still interesting in knowing which version seems to be better, however I have just finished more of the overall and without the metal texturing I figured I'd show you the latest for the main/eq (not the pl-stacks *yet*)

I think the lighter one (without the texture) looks better. The texture might work if you make it much lighter so there's just a hint of it, but the one you showed makes it look a bit too dark and grungy, taking away from the "sleek" look, and it also makes it look a bit flat.

agreed, good suggestion. I tried it under different opacities as well and still it takes to much away from the overall idea.
I like the way it is in its current form...definately, makes for an interesting skin...

I would have to agree, the lighter version.
