I have made some changes in my music folders and WinAmp does not seem to seeing the changes. It is showing music that has been deleted and, of course, won't play them when pressed (at first I thought I might not have actually deleted that music).

So, how to I tell WinAmp to refresh its view the music folders?

I'd also like to know this. I downloaded some music from the web from my phone to my phone, then shared my phone via Samba and used an MP3 Tagger to change the ID3 tags.

I then went into Winamp but it has the old tags, even restarting the phone twice hasn't changed anything.

Any ideas?

It's not WinAmp that you have to give orders to, here, but rather Android. There's app in the market called "Rescan Media". Forces the built-in Android Media Library to do another pass and check for stuff.

Yes, I used that a few times and it just wouldn't change.

Any updates on how to clear the changes without loading a third party app????

4 solutions:
1. for dummies: 'have you tried to turn it off and on again?' (quoting IT Crowd :D)
2. for nerds: check android properties if your device offers media scan options
3. for lucky ones: some other media apps (gallery, video etc.) might check media scan anyway
4. media scan app (already mentioned earlier)
(5. helps when winamp is stuck in anyway: reset by clearing data in the system app mgmt feature of your android. Attention: this deletes playlists and equalizer settings too)

I used 1st solution for the 1st days with my new device and installed 4th after that. Meanwhile not sure if luckily with 3rd or by 2nd media scan is done everytime when starting from standby, so i probably could uninstall media scan app (potential security issue comes with every app).

In general I appreciate apps which only do what they should do. Saves battery power, cpu resources and off course staying away from any hidden spy functions.
Keeping winamp android simple but perfect for replay is my only wishlist ..

If you look in the running apps and services, there is a service/app called media storage. If you clear the cache on this one it will delete the cache of stored music (and maybe other media) metadata.

I was having the issue of winamp thinking new music had been added everytime I inserted my microSD. This led to 4 versions of the same song being listed, 3 non-playing 'ghosts' and the real track. Clearing the media storage service/app fixed that.
