When I try to go to winamp.com this is how the web page comes up. How come??

it's a server load issue most likely with it not being able to access the css file for the site. normally waiting a bit or doing a forced refresh will resolve it.

also i've changed the doc attachment to a png file - putting an image in a doc file isn't the nicest of ways to provide things especially when the forums allow for direct image attachments.

Was trying to do an update at work. Found out company has firewalls preventing any music, entertainment, radio......etc....etc websites.....Most often we get an accessed denied.... Anyway that's what is going on..... Thanks for your help

yeah, I get that all the time, it's because the style sheets are located on winamp.com, and like you , our company firewalls anything that is entertainment, music, video etc etc.

However, forums.winamp.com manages to get past the firewall, just a shame it can't bring the stylesheet with it

Does have a plus side, if the boss see the screen, it just looks like a gnarly text based web site rather than some swishy mp3 player based site, just a pain to scroll miles down the screen past all the links before you get to the actual forums.

isn't there greasemonkey or something like that which would allow for a custom css to be made that keeps it texty but without all of the scrolling? (random half-awake thought off the day).

not sure, hang on I'll check...Oh wait, Firefox is firewalled as well :)

In fact, even breath another browser and you get shut down, I swear, I was looking for some new bathroom taps the other day at work, do you know how hard that is to do when you can't visit any page that has the word 'Chrome' in it.....

Work firewalls are pants, ours even cock blocks some of our own corporate external web sites due to content.... as I'm sure you know industry I work in DrO, you can see how that would work :D

wasn't sure if there's an IE version but at least you've still got forums.winamp.com allowed. worked at one place where the blocking was extreme and i think i managed a week on here before i got blocked (finally forced me to get a line in my flat so would've been ~2004 iirc).

i can understand blocking somethings (blocked facebook on some machines temps used to access at the previous job just to get the buggers working) but it can be done a bit OTT really. maybe that's what it's like to be in China?

Know what you mean, i can spend all day every day on facebook, and I see plenty of people chatting on there, and yet, mention an alt browser and the red light flashes away like crazy

The firewall rules are just not consistant, I can download hundreds of mb worth of software installs from the likes of nokia / sony and other, but mention downloading 14mb worth of winamp and it's 'woo wooo wooo.... alert!'

I just hijack the guest wifi here, use a private vpn tunnel and grab what I want some days...

hehe, just to make it even worse, I can't get into our main corporate .co.uk site that's open to the public from within the company, it has a age verification checker on the front page that's been script blocked within, and no way of whitelisting it.

Corporate IT, don't you just love it.
