Sorry if I speak bad English I'm French ... And I can not find the answer on the French forums

I have a problem with Winamp on my HTC Desire.

The album includes several artists appear once music. So there are several times the same album, each containing a single song. On the contrary, using Winamp (the computer), a single cd cover appears, because I set the album artist: various.

How to display once the cd cover?

Thank you very much:)

Firstly you need to ensure that each of the tracks on your compilation albums are tagged with an Album Artist of "Various Artists".
Secondly, within Winamp on your PC, with your device connected, go into Options -> Preferences -> Media Library -> Portables, click on your device and go to the Advanced tab. Make that the Filename Format organises the folders on your device by Album Artist rather than artist, for example my string reads
K:\Music\<Albumartist>\<Album>\<Title>
where K: is the drive that represents my device on my PC. By having one album artist folder for "Various Artists" the system no longer splits the compilation into one album for each artist on the phone.

It looks as though you only get the option if you have a wired connection, it isn't there for a wireless connection

Hold on, it looks as though it is on the tree item above labelled "Portables". Untick "Use CD Rip Settings" to get to it.

I have unticked that.
"Dossier" :
D:\Musiques
"Charte de nommage:"
<Artist> - <Album>\## - <Trackartist> - <Title>

Well give it a go. It definitely works the "wired" way that I outlined.

Thank you very much !

It's strange... I can't use wifi :/ If you find a solution to do the same thing with wifi, I take that !

Thank you :)

Paul,

i'm not following you... i have AA tags on all my comps, (some say "Various Artists" some say other stuff, but the same string on every track per CD) and i keep all the tracks in the same per album folders on my PC. they work fine in every app on my PC.

however, when i xfer to the droid, wired or wireless, the AA tag is ignored.

are you saying you got the droid to acknowledge it?

Yes, by changing the filename format string to K:\Music\<Albumartist>\<Album>\<Title> when syncing wired, the compilation tracks are stored in folders named after the album artist of "Various Artists" rather than folders being set up for each track artist on the album. I had the same problems with compilation albums appearing multiple times in the album list, when I changed the settings to store them all by albumartist the problem was resolved.

To clarify further, you need to get the tracks organised in folders by Album Artist on the phone. The default settings, on wired connection, set up the folders by track artist, whatever way they are organised on the PC.
The path has to be set to
K:\Music\<Albumartist>\<Album>\<Title>
where K:\ is the drive allocated to the phone when it is plugged into the PC.

where? i don't know where to make the change you're talking about.

also, with 5.61 out today, it says this:

Fixed: [pmp_android/usb] Use <Artist> for folder name if <Albumartist> missing

so is what ur saying still necessary or is the issue fixed?

Make sure that your device is connected throgh the USB and detected. Go to Preferences -> Media Library -> Portables.

Paul,

when i go there, it has a check for use cd ripping settings. so i left that and went to cd rip settings and it had this by default:

<Artist> - <Album>\## - <Trackartist> - <Title>

so are you saying i should change that to:

<Artist>\<Album>\## - <Trackartist> - <Title>

or do i HAVE TO specify the actual path, like this:

G:\Music\<Artist>\<Album>\## - <Trackartist> - <Title>

and if so, what about the path option above it?

?

also, i think the devs are now aware of the issue, so they might introduce a change to fix it that invalidates the workaround.
