Background: I use Winamp v. 5.56, Principally to play and control backing tracks during musical performance. So I always use "Manual Play Advance", with a "No" loop setting. Also, since I use a tiny laptop/netbook with my setup, I am very dependent on the hotkeys Z,X,C,V,B, to quickly access "PREV", PLAY, PAUSE, STOP, and 'NEXT. This issue is about unexpected behavior of the "PREV" and "NEXT" hotkeys, 'Z' and 'B'.
1. When I cue up a song, the visual behavior is to the same as when I use the up/down arrow keys to highlight a song. While the text color of the selected song changes slightly, it is confusing, especially to other nearby band members who may look at the display for confirmation. Please change the program so that the selection highlight bar in the playlist moves along with the PREV/NEXT hot keys.
2. The other day, some corruption I can not trace caused the behavior of the PREV/NEXT hot keys to become completely unusable. The symptom was that the PREV/NEXT hot keys would completely ignore the order of the songs in the playlist. Worse, it would not even select half the songs. This made me have to resort to using the notebook's touchpad and mouse buttons, which is very clumsy while hold in guitar. Fortunatly I was able to get similar results using the UP/DOWN arrow keys along with "ENTER". But that is hit or miss because it won't work if the playlist window is not the one in focus, unlike the ZXCVB keys which seem more global to the entire application. In any case, re-building playlists from scratch did not help at all. the only thing that did fix the problem was completely uninstalling the product and re-installing from scratch. Perhaps addressing the highlight issue in item (1) above might fix this problem too?
