you don't understand embedding ... embedding is a two way street ...

VLC plays NSV ... VLC can be embedded ... not everyone has VLC

so ... embedding VLC wont help

I can make you a flash player that you can embed in a web page

not everyone has flash

so ... whats so wrong with external apps playing your live video?

That is a very good point. I agree with everything you say there jarpmanda, only concerns I have is with peoples browser settings - how will the browser react to opening an external app link.

In-built or embedded would be easier, but by opening an external app it's about getting everyone on the same page and I'd say it's difficult to say the least, how do you approach this?

there are a number of apps that play NSV streams - in windows, there's at least winamp and VLC, I know people with MACs and Linux can also watch with external apps

I investigated embedded players ... but there is nothing that would be considered "main stream" that plays NSV ... VLC is the closest, but the last time I looked at it, it wasn't there ... plus I HATE the VLC browser plugin - it screws up other media types in browsers so bad that I will never ever use the VLC plugin again

FLASH based NSV players exist ... look for thundersnow around these forums

Ah good to know (and for djcanna too!), I think I may have got NSV working in one of my flash players a while ago possibly. However good to know that flash based NSV players are around. Makes me want to stick with NSV (as I'm looking at streaming alternatives/see other threads), especially good as Mac and Windows play NSV too.
