I just started using ShoutCast app on my Viera TV. I wanted to add radio station URLs and was successful with Cherie FM, but with many stations it didn't work, for instance WMSE.
What do I need to know to get the ShoutCast option to work, namely "Add New URL".
p.s. one station uses mms:// rather than http:// How can I deal with that? (the station is
mms://swr-wma-m-swr3a.wm.llnwd.net/swr_wma_m_swr3a )
Thanks!

the mms:// stream isn't a SHOUTcast stream and is something Windows Media Player usually plays.
a quick look at the tune-in links from the WMSE site shows none of the streams are currently active which would explain why they're not working.

Thanks DrO. The WMSE streams are now active: I can listen to the WMSE .asx stream on one PC; and on another one running VLC Media Player I can listen to the other formats as well, e.g "AAC Plus". But on ShoutCast on the Viera neither format will play. Help!
Sorry I'm a newbie, but your other response, re mms:// stream being for Windows Media Player rather than SHOUTcast stream: Are there certain formats that SHOUTcast doesn't play? Where can I learn what is and isn't compatible formats? [just to be clear again, this is in terms of playing SHOUTcast app on the Viera TV]
Thanks again for your prompt reply!

i'm sorry but i really cannot comment on why it's not working for you on your tv as it's eomething i cannot try and it could even be related to the SHOUTcast site issues from the announcement at the top of this forum (which affects what information apps, etc can access).
SHOUTcast only provides AAC+ and MP3 streams via a http:// style address. streams / links starting with mms:// are in a completely different format which is not to do with SHOUTcast and will not be played by a SHOUTcast specific player (as on your tv).
