Well this bug was bugging me for sometime now until I decided to keep the volume mixer open to see why my Winamp volume slider in the system mixer was always on 20% after I look a few hours later.
Every time I play a midi file the volume is changed in the system mixer to about 20% and then when the next track is a mp3 the volume isn't changed back.
This is with default settings install. I changed the midi settings in the input preferences to device directmusic with output. The volume isn't changed down anymore but thought it might be good to either fix the bug or make it the default settings.
This happend on the latest version of Winamp 5.623 and on Win8 CP (happend on Win7 too). Sound drivers are Realtek HD.
PS: Tried to search for people reporting something similar but only found threads where people had volume lost due to communications devices changing the volume down in Win7.
