Is anyone successfully using Winamp 2.7 with a 486? Woud be using it only for mono Internet Radio with a 28.8 modem.
Thanks!

EXTREMELY doubtful if not impossible. I can't run Winamp on my Dell 150 (Tip: NEVER use Win98 on a slow comp). 486s would probably be limited to DOS. Sorry.

it can be done, but i haven't done it myself. i've ran winamp (perfectly) on my p75.. you need to change some decoder setting for in_mp3.. get into in_mp3.dll preferences (preferences (crtl+p) -> plugins -> input -> nullsoft mpeg audio -> configure) and play with those settings.

Ice,
Thanks for the tip! Before posting checked older posts some said ver 2.0-2.5 had older MP3 decoder that uses less sys resources. So is it best to adjust the 2.7 or go with the older decoder?
Thanks!

If sound quality is not an issue, got with the old decoder.
