I have my first exam for psych 50 on the 5th and 6th of october...the retarded professor scheduled the fucking review sessions for 2 thrusday and friday at 130...i have fucking class them 2 dates...and of course there's no fucking tapes that will be available that i can copy (like what they normally do with all the lectures) so it looks lik ei'm most likely screwed up the ass for my exam...I can't cut my class on firday cause i always have a test on firdays, and i can't cut my thursday class cause the teach advises you to drop the course if you miss 4 or more (i've already missed 2)
ARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!
I need a shotgun..anybody got a shotgun?

Why not just read the textbook? (Not that I'm one to talk, as I just got 73/75 on my psych test last Friday after reading a tiny fraction of the assigned reading, for a total out-of-class studying time of about 4 hours so far this semester. 'Course, it's mostly review for me.)
(Aren't I great at providing sympathy? http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/smile.gif)

I do...but the exam isn't on the text..it's on the lectures...which are so fucked up...half the time he's sitting there trying to figure out how to work his shitty gateway laptop, then tries to figure ot why the mic has a slight buzzing noise which only he can hear....we have outlines that we print off the website, but they don't help none...we have recitations we go to, which, once again don't help none...
:sigh: another class in which i am teaching myself

Shit, that does suck. Ya'd think that as a psychology professor, the guy would know more about how to teach effectively, having learned a little about educational psychology, and would implement that knowledge accordingly. I hope he doesn't turn too many people away from psych. It's my favorite subject (well, tied with philosophy, perhaps). Very fascinating, as long as your textbooks and teachers are good enough.

Ok it's now time to bitch about english...This is the question we got today..i have to write a 5 page paper on this bullshit by fucking tuesday..i wanna fucking scream again

We have read 3 accounts from the puritans which are suspect to or contemporary sensibilities for several reasons. (they would be Mather, Rowlandson, and Underhill) Foremost, the Puritans seem overzealous in their pursuit of the Native Americans as God's divine plan. But also, we have a general sense that the N.A's were not the barabrians that the P.'s made them out to be (duh), which can be judged from their own wirtings. Add to these the account of Easton, who was excluded from the puritan Confederation (duh he was a fucking Quaker) and who writed reports that the Eng. often acted less than honorably, even visciously (how fucking redundant). Looking back and trying to understand the mindset of the typical 17th century Eng. P. colonist, decide if the conflicts which arose could have been avoided. Expalin. -OR- (not that either is a better fucking choice) Write a narrative from the perspective of a typical NA; you choose the tribe. What are your concerns, fears, and causes for anger?(this fucking essay is the cause right now) How do you percieve the English in general? (bastards who wrote a bunch of shit that I know have to write an essay on) Where do you agree? (agree with what exactly?) Where are there problems in the relationship? (that's easy..neitehr was getting enuff ass) What is the best way to resolve these problems? (Screaming, yeah..and a drink or 90)

Do i really wann fucking do this? No. But yet I spent the time to type it. Why? Cause i'm bored, and i just made you read all that. So now you're pissed cause there's no point. Or at least laughing your ass off at my misfortune and overall laziness.
Bitch. http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/frown.gif

Hehe... Poor saps. I have a natural defense ability against confusing information, including worthless algebra crap.

Noone has yet to give me a good explanation as to WHY we need algebra in our daily lives, or advanced math in general. It's a terrible waste of brain cells.

Me at supermarket: Should I get tuna in oil or tuna in water?

Algebra: If I take the circumference of this can and divide it by the volume of the penut butter jar squared, then...

See? No practical application.

Me @ Checkout: Can I make that in 2.55 payments squared x5?

Checkout lady: Huh?

SLK, things like that essay sadden me
because I do believe history and English
are important topics- but teachers turn off
everyone by making them write papers and
do projects of the most utterly stupid and
useless nature and quality.

As for algebra - to hell with it. Replace it
with consumer math and be done with it.
There are so many more usefull things they
could be teaching in its place.

You did know that algebra originated in the Middle East, right? However, it is very useful for certain applications. For example, I want to become a design/engineer for General Motors, and algebra is necessary to solve problems and make more efficient designs. It has its purposes, but for everyday life, it's pretty useless.

Yeah it's an arabic concept- along with
the concept of "zero." If i'm correct,
lots of algebra originated in Muslim Spain
as well. (Cordoba)

Algebra is only useful for certain disciplines- science, certain design fields,
statistics, etc etc. Why teach it to people
who don't need it AND don't want it?

Xerxes, you know about the Chen dynasty, right?
You know of a good website on it?
I saw a WAY cool IMAX movie about Chen a couple years ago in Denver and thought it to be truly amazing how the people of China made full sized statues of his entire army that were recently unearthed.

Xerxes

Chen or Ch'in? I don't know of a website
dedicated to it, but I have seen a real
good PBS "Nova" special about it.

Let me check my list of historical bookmarks-
(Of which I have too much of) and I might
have something for you.

Recently they had a museum exhibit "Treasures of the Forbidden City"
in my area and it was absolutely exquisite let me assure you. There was a full sized
recreation of an ancient chinese throne room.
It is said they would channel in fog over
the emperor's head while in his throne room so nobody could see his face.... that's so cool. http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/smile.gif
