Aah, IE Bookmarks . . . something for The Egg to "bitch" about.

Yup, the CTRL+D system sucks !

Recently I edited about 500 or so bookmarks with Notepad in order to remove all that [Default] blah blah crap.

All the bookmark needs is:
[Internet Shortcut]
URL=...............

Not even sure if it needs the "Modified=" entry at the end.

My solution, from now on I make my own bookmarks.
Copy URL from webpage or Address line.
Open "C:\Windows\Favorites"
Goto relevant subfolder
Select: New -&gt; Shortcut
Paste URL

Result=less than 70 bytes, instead of those stupid 1kb ones.

Heh! Egg, they're still gonna take up 4096 bytes each (i.e. one disk cluster) (assuming you're using FAT32). So you haven't actually freed up any disk space. Methinks you wasted a bit of time messing with them favorites.
