I NEED SPEED!

Shit. Need a new comp. Nowadays I'm having problems with my PIII 450. Running 7 IE windows plus Winamp & Ge-Force Beta (which is not NEAR as fast as it used to be) along with Scour Exchange and Napster while editing my litestep step.rc file is just a wee bit taxing for my system. I don't ask
for much, just this:

Duron 700 overclocked to 950 (94 w/ shipping)
A nice big fan for that processor (30 w/ )
Asus A7V Motherboard (141 w/ )
Elsa USB modem (so I can use Linux!) (72 w/ )

Either:
A. Voodoo 5 5500 AGP (247 w/ )
B. Power VR KRYO AGP (Unreleased)

Although I would LIKE 2 1.1ghz AMD procs, I don't think I have the kind of cash for that. Everything else I've got it just fine (though I fear I may screw up my nice HD if I format it too much...). Maybe I'll get it this christmas or something, although what I really want is a plane ticket back... Well, actually, no. I want to fall in love, but something tells me (ahem, experience) that that's not the easiest gift to get. "sigh"

Dude, your puter doesn't suck as much ass as you think. It's pretty comparable to mine. You've got a faster processor, but I've got a 17" monitor. (Btw, which is it? An AMD or a PII?) I've got two HDs with a total of 36.8 gigs of space, but you have a 44X cd rom drive.

All I've got in Chile is 15" and at home I've got 17".
I've got a 14gig 7200rpm IBM drive that's workin' wonders for me. I don't know why you'd need more unless you did some serious HD recording & didn't have a CD-RW drive (BTW, got one of those for 99 bucks http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/biggrin.gif 4x4x24). Also got a DVD-ROM 6x & an SBLive. I AM sittin' pretty, but YES, I really do open that many programs at once on my comp.

er... Iomega... You gotta chance your computer specs. You can't have a PII/400 with an AMD-K6 CHIP! And why you want a Jaz-Orb drive when you can get a CD-RW for about 100 is strange to me.

I have always really liked Aureal 3D sound -
and if you have the right setup I find that
it GREATLY enhances a lot of the music I like
(Big band, classical) So I have the latest
aureal 3d Card. Now that company just went kaput, so once that card dies thats all she wrote.

Aureal went kaput? That sucks. No more competition for creative. I was seriously considering buying an aureal card before I got my SBLive! and now I feel bad. I should've supported the smaller company, but I DID want the soundfont support, though I don't ever use it NOW. Sad. It's nice to see that AMD is doing great - I never liked intel.

Note: PII is an INTEL proc. and is NOT the same company as AMD. Therefore it is impossible to have both in the same computer unless
a. you just dropped another processor in there and didn't hook it up to anything or
b. you've got a extremely screwy custom MB.

The only thing really good about my computer is my 6-month old CD-ROM drive. (The one that came with my comp, which is still installed, skips like crazy when playing audio CDs.. BTW: it's 32X.)
