lack of originality

i've published several skins to this site and i never really took a look at the skins that are published until just a few days ago. i was alarmed at what i saw, and also a little disappointed. after about 20 minutes of looking through most of the skins i noticed something; there are identical skins with subtle differences in coloration or markings. my question to this is...why publish them?? i know it's school spirit and all that, but copying other people's design, changing it to fit your school, and not even crediting the original is lame and shows a gross lack of originality.

I agree....there is a lot of lameness and lack of originality when it comes to skin mkaing. "Why publish them?" you ask. Winamp has over 17,000 skins on this site, and a very limited number of Reviewers to review them. In all fairness, it's a bit lame to expect the reviewers to remember every skin they've published to know when another one comes along if it is a rip, or a "subtle change" from another skin. http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/smile.gif

i wouldn't expect you to remember all the skins your reviewers see, that wasn't my point. it was just a general gripe that the people that submit that kind of stuff are lamers. university network connections are wonderful http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/smile.gif
