two parts to this.. Why do we love football so much, and Why does my school team suck so hard this year?
OK, my freshman year in college our Div 1 football team was 14 and 1, ended ranked fifth. Pretty cool. We're usually a good team, hell, in 84 we were national champs. But what is our record this year? A year which is I might mention, the last year our longtime coach will be coachin? The coach who turned the program from a pretty poopy one into a consistent winner, with I swear 20 winning seasons in a row, the coach who is like 2nd on the active coaches win list. How does the team show its thanks in his farewell year? By going 3 and 5 so far! Or something like that, i stopped caring. His last year will be his first losing season season since like the 70s. Those football morons should be expelled!
Brings me to the second part. Why do I care? Why does anyone care? Why do school give part of my tuition to these idiots so they can run around in pads and tackle people? My school shouls get rid of the scholarships, the players here don't deserve them anymore. Sure, it would be death for the program, the Uni might lose some money, but who cares? Aw hell with it.
