When are they going to make something that's BUG free? Like Winamp. My I.E. 5.5 is acting wierd. When I click a link to open in a new browser it does nothing. And I just found out that even normal link's don't work always. (can't get the smilies legend now http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/frown.gif) And now I didn't mention their biggest bug ever. (mediaplayer 7) http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/smile.gif Micro$oft sucks!

Winamp is far from being bug free.

Kaboon, My IE did that. Refused to open links in a new window. I reinstalled it to fix it.
You can get a fix for it but I've no idea where I saw it.
IE must be the most bug filled program ever. It does something strange every so often and their biggest bug ever is Windows.

Well, actually, Winamp's MOD decoder is by far one of the buggiest parts of it.

Real solution: Quit buying and using Microsoft products.

Best solution: get Opera and forget that IE even existed, except when you use SG

I think all cd's with IE on them should be burned for the sake of getting rid of anything to do with Microsoft.

I've used Beos 5 for a while but it's hard to get some good software for it but it looks really nice. And is far more stable then Windows.
Quit using Windows is not the solution for me becuase my parents use the PC also and they don't know much about Windows but if I'm going to use something else they can't use the PC at all.
Is opera the solution??? How about Netscape??
Hawk606 why?? I'm just curious. Do you work for Microsoft or something? http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/smile.gif

Ok, so that was overkill, but just proving a point. Makes stuff harder to read, too.
As for IE55, I'm happy with it.. for now. I'ts not giving me shit right now, but when k-meleon 0.2 comes out you can rest assured that'll be my default browser.

Hey Rad(ioactive)Man, still happy with Opera? Have they fixed it up any? Word from the wise: it's speed kicks all other's bloated asses, just doesn't work on ALL websites, last I checked.

Yes. Very. There's just a few sites that it won't work with. Hotmail for one. Until I mailed them a letter of complaint. They actually listened to me! And freedrive. But for sites like that, I still have Speedy Gonzales kickin around. IE hasn't been opened for over 4 months http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

who did you send a letter of complaint to? Hotmail, or Opera? I'd be rather surprised if anything microsaft related actually listened to you. But yeah, it works, is back on my machine, and kicks ass.

All the media players are going stupid, except WinAmp... although only about 5% of WinAmp skins are truly functional and easy to use (i.e. if you had never used it before)
Quicktime started it all with their oversized player complete with dumbass volume dial and even dumber favorites drawer. RealJukebox keeps hogging more and more RAM, with little more functionality added (although I'd like to see music categorization in WinAmp), and poor skin selection. Windows Media Player 6 was nice and small... perfect for wav files and stuff, but with WMP7 they've jumped on the mind-fucked bandwagon and churned out a clunky piece of garbage.
I don't care how it looks, I don't care if it has visualization filters or useless features like audio bookmarking... I just want it to:
a.) Stay out of the way.
b.) Let me make playlists.
c.) Play nearly every kind of audio file.
d.) Play them without hogging resources.
With the exception of playing RealMedia files, WinAmp does all that. Everyone I know uses WinAmp, even if they use RealJukebox to catalog their music. Where did anyone get the idea that a complex audio player is a good thing? And why do they think ads will be clicked on, when it's an application that people want to hear, not see?
I would love to see an option in WinAmp to make it operate like FlexiCD (the CD player that comes with the Microsoft Powertoys) which only appears in the system tray.

Red the whole Linux community must be against you and your modem. I would run away and hide in a nice dark little corner, buy some books on programming, live of rain water and moss for 2 years and write your own modem driver... I'm sure it would be a great experience http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Linux sucks! It sucks less than windows but it still sucks the mildly amusing flacid limb... But joys it's proberly going to suck ever more once the split up Microsoft Apps devision forms the Microsoft Linux branch...and you know it is going to happen. Oh fweeee... I can hardly wait...Oh and don't forget those Software patents and the whole god damn industry out for revenge on the Open source community... Rambus will seem like a saint in comparison.
I'm off to see the marketing boys about getting a patent on cotton production from all the fluff in my head at the moment. It's like overflowing throughout my mind...Urghh.. Fluffy the Head goes walkabout in Magic Land...(Hardware Acceleration required)

microsoft have blocked out anything 3rd party - i tried using phat linux to dual boot and it over rided it each and every time even after moving the boot sequence to zip disk - ant that bloody kernel32.dll was designed to block any non-microsoft software so that microsoft get their dollars worth for media player7 which is very extremely expensive!
they have lots of back doors! they scan all our systems behind our backs which is not good - if you have to use cookies delete them when finished! Microsoft are very insolent and greedy! Gates Is going continued below:

not all mistakes are spelling - keyboards are a nuisance - i have so much stuff - i have no memory for voice activation or icq!
those net accelerators!
bloody programs like annotate.net that come with neoplanet - unnavoidable! gator takes up memory but my web accelerator wont let me un install it without taking away the accelerator!

Um, I have a tri boot system which works fine... Windows 98SE, Windows 2000 and Linux. Sounds more like a settings issue to me.
Cookies are cookies, they are only one form of information piracy. I would worry more about the other ones, 'cos they are much worse.
It is not Microsoft that scans your system behind your back it is other net users or third party programs. Whilst Microsoft might suck as a company they do make some pretty good programs. Get over it.
Net accelerators, pah! Why not use a decent one that costs money. Or better yet find the appz version. A quick registry hack and you would be rid of Gator etc. Information will always overcome. Stupidity will suffer the joys of the abhorant programmer.
Mule.
EDIT: Eeeh gads, istead of shouting about HP why not have a look at how you have configured your system. It sounds like a mess to me. Are running your desktop at 640*480 and have icons plasterd over everything, including various "New Folder" ones and "New Shortcut...1", "New Shortcut...2" etc etc? Why I wouldn't be surprised to find that your Start Menu is even worse, a bedraggled maze of dead links and messy folders...
As to ink cartridges, well what do you expect? Every company does it. It's how they make more money. Only shmucks fall for it though, anyone with half a brain knows about the refil kits. Man they even come with mini drills to make a hole in the cartridges that don't have any. You make your choice, pay less for a refil or pay more for an original. It all depends on what you are needing to print. Sometimes it is better to buy original if you have a big run of vital docs etc.
Oops, sorry Charmander, I just realised I was bitching at you in that other thread as well.. ahem... Nothing personal... (run away!!!)
