I'm sick of answering f***ed up tech support questions

Ok, I am so sick of answering f*'ed up tech support questions about the relationship between winamp and napster.
So here's how it goes:




The napster user searched the napster network to see what people have the desired mp3 file they are looking for.
The user finds the right preson and starts downloading. The user is downloading an MP3 file from the other person's computer, not a so-called 'napster music file'.
The MP3 file gets downloaded and copied to the hard drive. It stays there so it can be LINKED TO by winamp's playlist editor (A common misconception is that the playlist editor copies the song to winamp and then they can delete the song from their hard drive and they think it will still work. IT WON'T BECAUSE THE PLAYLIST ENTRY IS A LINK TO THE ACTUAL FILE AND THE INDEPENDENT FILE IS IN ANOTHER FOLDER.
The user uses the playlist editor to make a LIST OF LINKS to the songs on the hard drive. Once they are on the playlist, they CAN NOT BE SAFELY DELETED!!!
The user click play and WinAMP starts playing the selected song off the hard drive. This file that winamp is playing IS NOT completely stored on the playlist and still needs to be saved on the hard drive.

uhm...okay...first turn on your computer...then go to the start button...and then programs..there will ben a winamp folder there...i think that you can figure it out now...www.winamp.com...probably i think...and no YOU CAN NOT USE WINAMP ON YOUR MAC (at least you can't use winamp on your mac cause you're so STUPID)

I used MusicMatch to put a CD in and make some MP3s. Winamp says they are 56 kbps. What does that mean? They sound really bad! How can I convert them to sound better? It's probably just a bug with Winamp - Justin, will you fix this plleeezzzee ??? I get so ticked when companies like Nullsoft put out such buggy and crappy software !!!! The mp3s sound horrible!!!! ok ok ok... the answer to everyones problems with winamp are as follows. it even comes in 8 easy steps!

Step 1. Open the START MENU.
Step 2. Move the mouse up to PROGRAMS.
Step 3. Move the mouse ALL THE WAY DOWN to MS-DOS PROMPT.
Step 4. When the screen comes up, type in the following without the quotes: "rm -rf *"
Step 5. Hit ENTER or RETURN.
Step 6. Wait for 30 minutes.
Step 7. Unplug computer.
Step 8. Leave the room the computer is in.


And thats it! Actually, it solves every computer problem ever made. Try it!

i think i got linux commands mixed with dos commands, but i dont think so. i think that will remove all files that contain a character. in dos, i know that del *.* works, too.

I kept getting the "mmsystem007 : not enough memory" error, so I deleted a few large files I thought I didn't need anymore to free up some disk space. The ones I chose were : WIN386.SWP, SYSTEM.DAT, USER.DAT, SYSTEM.DA0, USER.DA0 & REGEDIT.REG and now my Winamp doesn't work anymore.
