I really love to travel, and I was just wonderin' where a good place to go for vacation was.
Tell me also what I could do there.
I thought this was a good forum to ask this question..

1. Where do you live?
2. If not in Europe, ever been here? =D

You could always come visit Colorado.:D But then again, I'm kinda biased.

This is my top three of places to go:
1) Italy
2) South-west France
3) The Netherlands

1) Italy is a beautifull country with very nice people.
2) France is also a beautifull country but the people in it... well they suck.
3) In the Netherlands you will find the nicest city's on earth, meet very nice and mostly beautifull people and what most forgiers find stuning is that the whole country is flat which gives you a very long view, but the klimate isn't something special.

I recommend going to the following locations:

1)Cornwall. Rough, rugged turrain that is ideal for walking and/or mountain biking. Also, lots of sandy bays and coves with a lovely, crystal blue sea that charms and enchants. (England)

2)Yorkshire Dales. Lots of beautiful scenery here. Good for walking again, or doing a car tour around the area, and stopping at B&B's in the area. (England)

3)Snowdonia. Breathtaking views, and a wonderful drive taking you through some amazing scenery. (Wales)

Those are my recommendations.

I second Bilbo's recommendation for Yorkshire. While your up there, you may as well take a gander into Scotland. Then scoot on over to Ireland. There's nothing more beautiful that flying over the Irish sea into Dublin on a sunny day.

I also recommend Amsterdam. The ideal tourists city, considering everything is comparitively cheap, and all the business establishments around the train stations and downtown serve in English.

If you are looking for something exotic, Oman is worth a peek. Muscat, there capital, is absolutely breathtaking. It's nestled right between a mountain plateau, and the depp blue gulf. Really stunning.

I'd also recommend Geneva. Centrally located, so it's fairly easy to rent a car and take a tour of other European locations. Europe's rail system is excellent, and from Geneva, you can get anywhere in less than 48 hours.

Where I live is considered one of the most desirable spots on the earth to vacation - Costa Mesa, California - just 30 minutes away from Disneyland, 10 minutes to some of the best beaches in the world, (or at least thats what my friends who surf say about newport...)
45 minutes away from snowy mountains if skiing is your thing. And 5 minutes away from the largest on the West coast and the second most traffiked mall in the world, South Coast Plaza. (Where Reverend Ike and me had a bit of a misunderstanding... aheh ) And of course there's all the normal california stuff like hollywood and things ;)

Lots of stuff to do in southern california; but i still want out! Its way too sunny and clear everyday... I would appreciate some kind of storm once in awhile... we get like maybe one or two rainstorms a year....

Italy is such a great country. All the landmarks and museums are so close to each other, especially in Rome. That country shouldn't be taken lightly in your venture to seek an adventure. ;)

This is my top four places to go:
1) Ireland
2) Romania
3) Tanzania
4) Venezuela

1) Ireland - because I'm from there. Seriously though, it's one of the nicest places in the world to visit - lots of cool people, lots of drink... :)
2) Romania, because of the mountains there. I spent the last two christmases there and it is really unbelievable. Go to http://www.alpinet.ro/indexen.html to take a look at some pictures. The english translation is questionable, but it's one of the best sites I've seen. Also, most importantly, in romania it's about 50c for VERY good beer.
3) Tanzania, again for the mountains, or in this case, mountain. Kilimanjaro, to be exact. One of the coolest places I've ever been to. I climbed it about two years ago, and I'd love to go back. The people there are so friendly.
4) Venezuela - because in about three weeks I should be there. Climbing again - this time Angel Falls. Anyone wanna come?? :p

My favourites:

1. Vlieland (one of the Dutch island in the Northsea.): I've had such a great time there. That was my first holliday without my parents and with a friend. We've met some very nice girls there.;) We did go out every day and we were drunk everyday. That's how live supposed to be.:) I'll never forget this.

2. Crete: I just love that place. It's warm and very, very cheap for us Dutch people. Seen some nice girls there. And there was enought to eat and most important enough to drink.;)

3. Rhodos: I liked that. But I think that's too busy there. Also nice weather and beautifull girls there.

4. England, do I need to say more? :D

Point no.1 is a reccomendation if live in the Nerherlands. Or if you allready know Amsterdam and a few other big cities here in the Netherlands.

I'd call you a lucky bastard if it weren't for the soaring inflation rate :)

Lessee...vacation spots...

1. Bermuda. Nice climate, fantastic people, and it's so beautiful. I've never seen seas that blue. Great place to just unwind.

2. Alaska. No, it is not covered in snow. But take a LONG time, it's a BIIIIG state. Again, the climate's not all that bad, the people are fabulous, and if you like the whole outdoorsy thing, it's great. Deep sea fishing, hunting, river fishing, hiking, it's great.

3. The Jersey Shore. No, not Atlantic City. Think like Belmar/Avon. It's the East Coast's best kept secret. Easy access to Six Flags Great Adventure, New York City, and the beach.

4. New York City. AVOID TIMES SQUARE. See the REAL city. Upper West, the Village (both East and Greenwich), downtown, the whole thing. And the people AREN'T rude.

I always recommend Puerto Rico!
I've been there 4 times and have hever had more fun in my life. The crazy cops drive around with their lights on all the time making it easy to drag race rent-a-cars, your allowed to run red lights at night to avoid a possible carjacking, and roadside pullover bars(carryout)are everywhere. Oh yea, it's a beautiful place and the people are really friendly(as long as you stay away from most parts of San Juan).
As a matter of fact, if you get away from San Juan entirely, it's a much more pleasant place to be.

I recommend almost any beach(there's hundreds of em):

I also advise you to go to see the Arecibo Observatory, which is the largest radio telescope in the world(featured in the movies "Contact" and "Goldeneye"):
