Winamp is an awesome program. I got an idea on how to make it better. The name is Winamp so it should run on all Windows platforms including Windows CE 3.0. How about making a full featured Winamp for Pocket PC (Runs on Windows CE 3.0) for all the processors (or atleast just a StrongARM) ;-). There are no good audio players for this platform yet and Winamp could be a Pioneer towards this direction!

And perhaps a Windows 3.1 version.
Pity my old 486 [DX2-50] doesn`t have the processing power to decode the mp3s in realtime though. I don`t know if the PocketPC has?

Pocket PC's have clock speeds ranging from 150-236Mhz. Tha's plently power to decode high quality MP3's. Microsoft has a version of Media Player that plays MP3's but it doesn't stream or have any DSP options. If a version of Winamp could be made for Windows CE 3.0 for Pocket PC with stream capabilities and an Equalizer then that would kick @$$.

I agree on that one. Winamp for a pocket pc does sound like a good idea. Who needs a standalone portable mp3 player?

I think I`d buy a PocketPC for this to use in my car to play mp3s...
Does anyone know how difficult it is to port stuff to a Windows CE platform?
