i had recently installed a DSL modem through a USB port. When i ran winamp 2.72 the playback was distorted.
i tried using the beta releases of Winamp 3 but they also included the distortion. i used other mp3 players( windows media player 7 and an mp3 player in the Winfire DSL toolbar) and the playback was not distorted.
I removed the DSL modem from the USB port and the playback was not distorted in winamp.
