I just wanted to know - does anyone else out there use SNESamp, any version, to play SPC files through winamp? It's an amazing plugin that lets you play snes music through your computer - and if anyone knows it well, could you tell me, _why is it that ToP and Star Ocean require less than 44khz?_ Can anyone tell me this?

Just wanted to say that I am using it. I like the way it sounds. I am not a big SNES geek (never had a real SNES); I am using it to play Huelsbeck's tunes (Super Turrican & Super Turrican ][ ). I don't know about any special problems related to particular SPC files. I simply hate the user interface of this plug-in: tabs don't work in ID666 editor, all dialog boxes appear below Winamp window when in always-on-top mode (damned wanna-be-cool freaks use sicko modeless dialogs instead of modal ones like everyone else do).

Well, I am one of those SNES geeks, per se. I played all of the big Square RPG's back when they first came out. And yeah, I hate that damned non-tab function. In the older versions of the plugin, the tab worked, but for some reason they pulled it out - who knows why?

Tabs don't work because they use modeless dialog boxes. Normal (modal) dialog boxes pop up above parent window and need to be closed before you can use their parent window again. Modeless dialogs run 'in background', there are 1E+666 evil problems related to using them anywhere (tabs are only a harmless example). Authors of SNESamp use them because they want to enable user to keep config window (and ID666 editor) active all the time while playing. Not a good idea IMO.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. I do think they should make them modal, though... things would be much smoother for me if I didn't have to use the damn mouse every time I want to type in some other value in the box.
