Hey who gives a crap if someone already said this. I most likely red it so now, let me give you a little background info.

Hello, my name is Tom Budinger. I live in bubble town (AKA Rocky River, Ohio). Yes, I live in Ohio, and before you ask, no, I don't live on a farm, I live by Cleveland and the lake (Erie). Now, I am in the band (I don't care if you think that is gay, I'm a percussionist and I know something's that would hurt if I hit you in the nuts with so listen.) We are going on a trip next week. Get this, we are going to Tennessee. Wow. Cool. Awesome. Not. The only good thing is that I will miss some school and I'll get to see Dolly Pardon's jubilees.

Now to my question, What are your favorite songs? I wanna make a mix but I want new songs, not songs that I have. So what are your favorite song or even CD mixes? I'm willing to try anything but country music.

God, i'm torn between these two Radiohead songs...

Radiohead - Street Spirit (Fade Out)
Rows of houses are bearing down on me
I can feel their blue hands touching me
All these things in two positions
All these things will oneday swallow whole

And fade out again and fade out

This machine will not communicate these thoughts
And the strain I am under
Be a world child form a circle before we all go under

And fade out again and fade out again

La La La......(ohhhhhh)

Cracked eggs dead birds scream as they fight for life
I can feel death can see its beady eyes
All these things into fruition all these things will oneday swallow whole

And fade out again and fade out again

La La La......(ohhhhhh)

Immerse your soul in love
and

Radiohead - Paranoid Android
Please could you stop the noise, I'm trying to get some rest
From all the unborn chicken voices in my head
What's that...? (I may be paranoid, but not an android)
What's that...? (I may be paranoid, but not an android)

When I am king, you will be first against the wall
With your opinion which is of no consequence at all
What's that...? (I may be paranoid, but no android)
What's that...? (I may be paranoid, but no android)

Ambition makes you look pretty ugly
Kicking and squealing gucci little piggy
You don't remember
You don't remember
Why don't you remember my name?
Off with his head, man
Off with his head, man
Why don't you remember my name?
I guess he does....

Rain down, rain down
Come on rain down on me
From a great height
From a great height... height...
Rain down, rain down
Come on rain down on me
From a great height
From a great height... height...
Rain down, rain down
Come on rain down on me

That's it, sir
You're leaving
The crackle of pigskin
The dust and the screaming
The yuppies networking
The panic, the vomit
The panic, the vomit
God loves his children, God loves his children, yeah

Mmmmm, LOVE thoes 2 songs...

OK, I can't be bothered to find my original response to this question (which was in a thread where we posted lyrics as well - I may dig it up later) so I'm using this as an opportunity to list my 5 favourite bands, my favourite tracks by these bands, and the album that those tracks are taken from. Then, if this question comes up again, I can just refer to this and be done with it.

I'm going with alphabetical order, because anything else would just be too difficult. If you want an absolute favourite, it would have to be Desolation Row.

Clash - White Man In Hammersmith Palais

A single, not on the original self-titled album although I think it made it on to the US release. If not, you can find it on, for example, the Singles collection. The best blending of punk and reggae the band managed to produce, preserving the bite of the first with the melodies of the second.

The new groups are not concerned
With what there is to be learned
They got Burton suits, ha you think it's funny
Turning rebellion into money

Bob Dylan - Desolation Row

The phenomenal closing track to Highway 61 Revisited, a remarkable album from start to finish. Surrealist story-telling at its height.

Einstein, disguised as Robin Hood
With his memories in a trunk
Passed this way an hour ago
With his friend, a jealous monk

Pearl Jam - Porch

A simple grunge track from Pearl Jam's simple grunge album - the bestselling debut Ten. It may not be their strongest track musically, but I keep returning to it and it still never fails to be enjoyable. There's a remarkable live version from MTVs "Unplugged" series, if you can manage to get hold of it.

All the bills go by, and
Initiatives are taken up
By the middle, there ain't gonna be any middle any more
And the cross I'm bearing home
Ain't indicative of my place
Left the porch...

Richard Thompson - How Will I Ever Be Simple Again?

Beautifully haunting ballad, found initially on the Daring Adventures album (which is otherwise quite ropy). A better, live version is available on the mail order only Celtschmerz CD.

War was my love and my friend and companion
And what did I care for the pretty and plain?
But her smile was so clear and my heart was so troubled
Oh how will I ever be simple again?

Tool - Forty Six & 2

A sweeping, metaphysical journey carried onwards by Maynard James Keenan's phenomenal voice, taken from the staggeringly good Ænima album. The song layers and builds in a remarkable way - the only comparison I can think of for its use of crescendo is Dire Straits' masterpiece On Every Street, from the album of the same name.

I've been wallowing in my own confused
And insecure delusions
For a piece to cross me over
Or a word to guide me in.
I wanna feel the changes coming down.
I wanna know what I've been hiding
In my shadow..

OK, that should answer that question once and for all...

TALKING:
Oh my god
Becky, look at her butt
It is so big
She looks like one of those rap guys girlfriends
Who understands those rap guys
They only talk to her because she looks like a total prostitute
I mean her butt
It's just so big
I can't believe it's so round
It's just out there
I mean, it's gross
Look, she's just so black

RAP:
I like big butts and I can not lie
You other brothers can't deny
That when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waste
And a round thing in your face
You get sprung
Wanna pull up "tough"
Cuz you notice that butt was stuffed
Deep in the jeans she's wearing
I'm hooked and I can't stop staring
Oh, baby I wanna get with ya
And take your picture
My homeboys tried to warn me
But with that butt you got
Me so horney
Ooh, all of that smooth skin
You say you wanna get in my benz
Well use me use me cuz you aint that average groupy

I've seen them dancin'
The hell with romancin'
She's Sweat, wet," got it goin like a turbo vette

I'm tired of magazines
Saying flat butts are the thing
Take the average black man and him that
She gotta pack much back

Fellas (yeah) Fellas(yeah)
Has your girlfriend got the butt (hell yeah)
Well shake it, shake it, shake it, shake it, shake that healthy butt
Baby got back

(LA face with Oakland booty)

I like'em round and big
And when I'm throwin a gig
I just can't help myself
I'm actin like an animal
Now here's my scandal

I wanna get you home
And --, double up -- --
I aint talkin bout playboy
Cuz silicone parts were made for toys
I wannem real thick and juicy
So find that juicy double
Mixalot's in trouble
Beggin for a piece of that bubble
So I'm lookin' at rock videos
Watchin' these bimbos walkin like hoes
You can have them bimbos
I'll keep my women like Flo Jo
A word to the thick soul sistas
I wanna get with ya
I won't cus or hit ya
But I gotta be straight when I say I wanna --
Til the break of dawn
I got it goin on
Alot of pimps won't like this song
Cuz them punks lie to hit it and quit it
But I'd rather stay and play
Cuz I'm long and I'm strong
And I'm down to get the friction on

So ladies (yeah), Ladies (yeah)
If you wanna role in my Mercedes (yeah)
Then turn around
Stick it out
Even white boys got to shout
Baby got back

(LA face with the Oakland booty)

Yeah baby
When it comes to females
Cosmo and got nothin to do with my selection
36-24-36
Only if she's 5'3"

So your girlfriend throws a Honda
Playin workout tapes by Fonda
But Fonda and got motor in the back of her Honda
My anaconda don't want none unless you've got buns hon
You can do side bends or sit-ups, but please don't lose that butt
Some brothers wanna play that hard role
And tell you that the butt and gold
So they toss it and leave it
And I pull up quick to retrieve it
So cosmo says you're fat
Well I aint down with that
Cuz your waste is small and your curves are kickin
And I'm thinkin bout stickin
To the beanpole dames in the magazines
You aint it miss thing
Give me a sista I can't resist her
Red beans and rice didn't miss her
Some knucklehead tried to dis
Cuz his girls were on my list
He had game but he chose to hit 'em
And pulled up quick to get with 'em
So ladies if the butt is round
And you wanna triple X throw down
Dial 1-900-mixalot and kick them nasty thoughts
Baby got back

why do you ppl insist on putting the lyrics to the songs... they dont help explain the song at all... all they do is take up space... so dont do it!

"Rock Solid" from the N64 game Conker's Bad Fur Day... I know it sounds weird suggesting a song from a game but believe me it's a cool tune.

If you bug me enough I might be able to line-in copy it for you (and me) within the week.

Sparklehorse f/Thom Yorke of Radiohead - Wish You Were Here
Nirvana - D7
Pennywise - Alien
Moby - Anthem, Hymn, Feeling So Real, pretty much anything of his Everything Is Wrong album.
Eels - Last Stop, This Town or Novacaine For The Soul
Our Lady Peace - Life, Happiness and the Fish, The Story of 100 Aisles, Julia, Neon Crossing

There, I think I've mentioned enough. Even if you don't burn these download them anyway. Good stuff here.
