I recently installed the latest version of winamp. I cannot play the last song from any cd (cda, wav, or mp3 formats) from my cd or dvd drive on my pc through winamp. All songs but the last play fine. I was not having the trouble with my old Winamp release before the upgrade. I have tried downloading the full and standard versions with the same results. When I play only the last song, the title and time appear, but nothing happens. When I include (enqueue) the last song of a cd in a song list, my system locks up when that entry comes up. I have no trouble playing the last songs with other players, such as Windows Media Player. Thanks for any help.

With each new update I hope that this bug gets fixed. I just downloaded 2.74. It still does it. It must have something to do with the CD itself. Winamp recognizes the last track on most of my CD's. There are just few that do not work. If I use another player the last track gets played.

same thing happens to me. here's my entire problem...
alright. On some cds, winamp recognizes the last track is there but doesn't
play it. It just stops. This only happens on a couple of CDs... not every
one. One example is U2's Rattle and Hum CD. It plays the first 16 tracks and
stops when it hits the 17th. It works with every other player though... Please give me a reply and resolve this quickly. I hate using that phony windows media player.

p.s. it may be helpful to know that it adds a second to the time of the last track... i don't know if that means anything

I was fiddling around with Winamp last night and was able to get it to play the last track on the 2 CD's that I've been having problems with. Below are the steps that I took :

1. I open the drop down list and select Play\File. This should show you the track listing off of the CD (ie. Track01.cda, track02.cda, track03.cda, etc.). I double click on the last track on the CD). That will display only the last track to be played. If you click on the play button it still will not play the track.

2. Now, Open the drop down list again and select Play, then select either Audio CD D:, Audio CD E:, Audio CD F: (just choose whichever drive letter your CD player is assigned to.)

3. Then select the last track on the disk. This has worked for me. While typing this email I am listing to the last track on one of the CD's that was giving me problems. Hopefully this will work for you. The two CD's that were not working for me are Gary Moore's "Victims of the Future" and The Cage froom Dario Mollo/Tony Martin. The former is a German import, the latter, and Italian import.

I found that you have to do these steps when you insert the CD's. If you pop out the CD and put it back in the last track still won't be played (a minor nusiance).

Try these steps and let me know if this works for you.... reply back to my posting. I'm so glad I figured out a fix ! It's a bit of a half assed way of getting it to work but it's better than not being able to play them at all.

Cheers,
Jim

I have tried Jim's suggestion but still could not play the last selection of any cd, although they will play on Windows Media Player and on any of my regular cd players.
I was not experiencing this problem until I recently uploaded the latest version of Winamp. Is there any way I could revert back to my old version and see if still works?
I do not remember my old version numer, but I believe I downloaded it in June of 2000.
