some very reliable sources hav leaked this information that Microsoft is coming up with it's version of LINUX.
hmm....

another source relayed that Bill Gates is signin' off from computer world and goin' into fruit sellin' bussiness, and would be sellin' pot as well as a side b'ness.. i think he should contact weed.

Me heard this too... A WinLinux version is being build...
Linux as a sub-operating system under windows or as seperate OS...

Don't know much about it..
I saw some show where they showed sth like it..
WinLinux. With a shotrcut on your desktop you could shut down WinCrap and sstart up Linux or sth...
It was a boring show so I like didn't watch it that good...

My experience is his for a small sum of 2 billion dollars of which 1 will be invested into Nullsoft..

weed what you saw must have been xwindows. it is the GUI of linux and unix.
ms would never market a product against linux or unix. it's better of with it's own version with the GUI.

uh and weed, when u bcum the lord of nullsoft... can i hav a custom title please ?? :D

Micro$oft can't buy Linux simply because it's an open source OS. They can come up with their own version of Linux however like Corel did.

I think jgalt was joking - at least, I really hope so. It might be pretty cool if Microsoft used Linux like Apple did with OS X - tho I really doubt it'll happen. Maybe if a meteor came and stuck Microsoft hq and everything of Microsoft was destroyed... but I doubt it...

I know Microsoft's going down already since Apple, Linux, Corel, Lotus, Netscape, Mozilla, Opera, Winamp, Sonique, Symantec, and all the other PC companies are really hammering Microsoft down now! 1999 was Microsoft's peak year, NOT this year! :D:D:D:D:D DOWN WITH MICROSOFT!

Microsoft using Linux would be laughable... Instead of X-Windows, it would be "X-Windows XP" or even "My X-Windows". XMMS would become "My XMMS" or "XMMS XP", maybe even "WiMP Linux". Gone would be the face of reconfigurable window managers, replaced by pastel-colored copies of the Win95 widgets... Emacs would become "Linux Notepad". I shudder to think what "Microsoft Office XP - Linux" would do to the system.

Yet there are over 6 differnt versions of Linux. Redhat and Corel are just 2 of them. Not to mention FreeBSD and other stuff I know about yet don't use.

I have to run Windows because I haven't got the hang of the GiMP well enough yet to churn out Winamp skins. ;) I have a copy of Redhat 7 on a partition... I tried Slackware 7, Corel 2, and Redhat 7, and I like Redhat best for usability, but Slackware feels very configurable... If we can talk Nullsoft into porting Winamp to X, I'd switch! :)
