View Full Version : Shoutcast on Linux error
8th May 2001, 06:16
When I try to run shoutcast by typing ./sc_serv I get the following error
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
How do I fix this?

Segmentation Faults are like the Linux version of Windows' illegal operations. There is probly an error in the files you are using, try redownloading the tools for shoutcast.
[edit: LOL I meant to answer this question in This (http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=67274) thread, so I searched the forums and found this thread and accidentally replied to this one :D]

Yikes! That is nasty... Bizznatch is right on. Core dumps mean something is seriously wrong.
Make sure you have the correct server version for your type of unix. Also make sure you have uploaded the server software in binary and the conf file in ASCII if you haven't untarred it on the unix box.
