I'm not sure if this is new, but i figured this out a couple of days ago. It involves the newest version ov the avs plugin that normally comes with winamp. This new version has a feature that allows you to replace your desktop with the visualization. it has a default color but you can change that, so i experimented. i found out that this plugin can be used to replace the gray areas found around most (if not all) windows. imagine having your start menu background was replaced with the avs visul! unless you've changed your color scheme, set the "to-be-replaced" color in the settings->display dialog box to "192" for red, green, and blue. windows millenium users use 212/208/200 r/g/b settings. make sure you're on 32-bit color depth, and have a really colorful visualization or it's gonna get hard to read.
