As a member of Skywarn and a local storm/tornado chaser, I am always looking for better way to get information out to the public I have been broadcasting our local NOAA Weather Radio for about three years now on the internet. And just recently started using SAM/Winamp to do so. And it works great!

But it lacks the ability to be "muted" and activate itself upon receiption of the "warning tones" emited at the start of the statement and at the end of the statement. Like a regular weather radio does.

I wish to take this state wide or even further. But this shortfall needs to be addressed before a formal submission can be made to the "powers that be".

It seems to me, not to be real hard to develop a plugin that would do this. It would mute SAM/Winamp and then raise the volume or disable the mute when the tones are detected.

Maybe their is a plugin that does this already. But havent seen it.

Any ideas?

(I hope this sort of fits the topic)

Thanks

Tim

Interesting idea. I hope somebody can make it.

We could call it WindAMP
