Hey
I wanted to post my opinion on this whole 4th of July and national pride story.
Damn, why should you b proud of your country? I am german, I am not proud of my country.. but its one of the best countrys to live in the whole world... I'm extremely lucky to live here.. i mean i could as well just been born in Ethopia or something..
but just because my land is a nice place to live, imnot proud of it. Despite its historical "special way", what did that country do for me? Nottin much.. it gave me education, thats right.. but that isnt something which makes this country so special... I hate thi system, i hate thos fucking policemen when they tell me to drive more slowly or to put away that joint, i hate our fucking politics, nothing happens... just news about some politicians being corrupt. I live here, thats right... its not that bad, I have a great time, thats right.. but im fucking and again NOT proud of my country... and germany isnt worse than america or canada or france or whatsoever...

I totally argree with you! To quote our "Bundespräsident":
"You can only be proud of things you've done by yourself"

The best thing about Canada (well, aside from the hot Vancouverite girls) is... POUTINE!
