At our hostel at my University we have a small LAN and I tried setting up shoutcast server so that others can listen in.
Everything went fine until people tried listening to the stream - they get an "Error synching" error msg. I've tried re-installing DNAS and uninstalling Windows Media Player, making sure I've got the correct codecs installed, but nothing seems to work. I've even tried installing the Oddcast server, but to no avail. For some reason I can select CD quality format in the Format selection dialog box, but when I select MPEG Layer3 I can only stream at 56kBits/sec...HELP!?
