I am using the lastest winamp, WinY2KPro, with cable internet. I am also running a firewall to protect my computer. I am having problems getting Shoutcast to stream. I get a little window that pops up, but nothing happens if winamp is open. If it is close then winamp pops up and nothing. Sometimes, I get the box to open a file out of my music files. But there is nothing there to stream,at least I don't think there is.....
Can anyone help me???????????
Thanks

Well, it sounds like you would need to have admin privliges to use and disable the firewall. If you are worried about hackers ... don't. I'm a Hacker and most hackers aren't worried about consumer information on your computer. But if you are the type that just can't, then try to let the firewall allow access on the 2 ports that the SHOUTcast server needs for audio access. If your firewall won't, then get another one. Win2k is a good OS for SHOUTcast, but if the Firewall won't let you use it, then your screwed.

Well, If the firewall is causing the problem. Then I might not use Shoutcase. My spouse is a Unix Admin and we don't want anyone to beable to get into our machine.
Thanks
