AVS with GeForce

I use Winamp 2.76 with the Advanced Visualization Studio and the MuchFX2 plug-in. Previously, I used a Voodoo 5 5500 AGP video card, and experienced no problems. Recently, I switched to a GeForce2 GTS DDR, VGA only, 32MB AGP video card, and I am using the Detonator 3 version 12.41 drivers. Whenever I start playing songs with the AVS running, eventually the program crashes. I get an error message like the following:

A fatal exception 0E has occurred at 0028:C0058E00 in VxD VMCPD(01) + 00000374. The current application will be terminated.

This happens even if no other programs are running, but doesn't seem to happen if the AVS is not running. Is anyone else having this program? Does anyone know how to fix it?

It would've helped greatly if you'd included full sys specs (especially CPU, Windows OS & soundcard) but I've managed to find a few related articles from MS Support Knowledge Base.

At a guess, the Geforce drivers have modified some Windows default MMX drivers with newer, possibly incompatible versions.
It could be C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\VMM32\VMCPD.VXD, or it could be other files which call on this Virtual Memory Device Driver.

I'd start by reinstalling Winamp, especially if you haven't done so since changing your graphics card, and if the problem persists, reinstall DirectX drivers.

I know it's nothing definite, but I hope this helps in some way.
