The included presets are great but I would like to have something like a preset playlist where I could choose which presets and in what order I wished to use them. Also, a return of the rating system from geiss 4 would be nice. An option to play the presets completely random, based on the ratings of each one, or by a playlist would enhance milkdrop a lot. Although this doesn't have anything to do with presets the ability to switch between fullscreen and windowed mode without having to exit milkdrop would be nice too.

If you don`t like the presets, just delete them from the MilkDrop folder... or store them somewhere else. I
I`ve only kept half of them... cause some of them are kind of boring, but the ones that are good look absolutely awesome! Unfortunately my computer (Celeron 667, 128MB, 8MB video card) can't handle 32-bit colour or anything over 1024 x 768, but one of my friends has an Athlon 1.3GHz... runs it in 1900 x 1200, 32-bit... damn it looks awesome :-)
I mainly prefer the `travelling` ones (like anomaly, bright fiber matrix and so on, or any geiss-type ones), it would be great to see some more come out.
Ryan, any possiblity of a new version of Milkdrop coming out soon? I'm really looking forward to it, keep up the fantastic work!

Oh yeah, and you can press "L" while Milkdrop is running, to bring up a list of presets (F1, F2 etc bring up stuff too, if you didn't already know - song title, time, name etc.)
Pressing "Scroll Lock" keeps it on the same preset as well, which is good when you see one that really looks good...

I know that you can delete them and there is also a list to choose from but what i was meaning was that I would like the ability to set up which ones i want to play and then let it go off on its own. This would be perfect for a party where u are setting up the music and have in mind certain presets that you want but don't want to have to manually change it during the middle of the party. I also just loved the rating system from geiss because there were some presets that i liked more than others. By giving each a rating the favorite ones can play more often and the others that are only ok pop up once in awhile to give variety. Some of my favorites are cosmic dust, digital smoke, hurricane, ink blot, bonfire, and julia fractal. Thats a lot and theres still more I like. There's just too much eye candy! Oh and the octopus ones are cool. I've been waiting for a successor to geiss 4 for a long time now, thank you Ryan!

Yeah, I think that would be a good idea... and maybe instead of a star rating (0 - 5), rate it out of 100% instead. (Maybe type a rating into milkdrop while it's running, instead of using the < and > keys?)
Something that would also be useful is maybe some kind of limiter on the colours (that is, you could specify which colours could be excluded)... because on my computer, some colours are too dark (ie. dark red, dark green), while others will make the screen go totally white (the white - pink colours). Changing the brightness setting helps one of the above problems (eg. setting brightness lower stops the white screens, but makes lots of darker ones, and vice versa). This is less noticeable when running in 32-bit colour, but it would be better if there was some way to limit the palette that MilkDrop uses, to ensure that most of the presets are not too bright or too dark.
Oh, and one last thing, when you set the 'fancy font' to large / very large, and have the song name and the time going, they tend to overlap, which makes them both difficult to read... also, an option to perhaps change the colour of that text too?
Hoping for a new version soon :-) Any indication of when this could happen????
