For some reason, my wife can't get a ShoutCast station to play by clicking on the "tune in" buttons...but can get the station to work by opening it directly through WinAmp...
When she clicks on "tune in", or tries a direct link like (http://24.45.7.104:8000/listen.pls), she says:
"it did the quick download then opened winamp, then opened a 'open file' window that looks in the 'winamp' folder"
..so it's not automatically opening the stream...
I had her go into WinAmp and attempt to open a station (http://65.35.87.122:8000) directly in winamp, through the PLAY --> LOCATION option. In that case, it plays the stream correctly.
...so it's not Winamp...
I then had her try to open the stream (http://208.42.141.6:8000/listen.pls) through the RUN command off the START menu in windows. Didn't work.
...so that leads me to believe it's more of the file types settings, and not the browser...maybe?
Anyone have any ideas?
Is it the browser settings (didn't see anything out of sorts) or the file types settings (sounded like she had the exact same as mine--which works perfectly)...or something else?
