I'm an experienced shoutcaster but I really want to eliminate having to run Windows 98 on a machine only to be able to shoutcast from it. I have 4 other machines here, all running Windows 2000 and 3 of them have SBlive cards. One has an old MX 300. Each one of them do the exact same thing, as listed below. The machine with Windows 98 and an SBlive works flawlessly.

My issue is as follows:
I get setup, playing the first song in the playlist, I can hit push to talk and everything seems fine. Once the song is over and it goes to the next one in the playlist my mixer resets. The "What U Hear" setting maxes out and my mic level stays the same. So I'll be talking and all of a sudden the music goes to full blast and I have to click on the DNAS GUI on the Music Level slider or click on the "What U Hear" bar in my recording system mixer and it instantly sets back where it should be.

Is there an easy fix? Am I simply overlooking something? Or am I stuck running win98 on my shoutcasting rig?

Thanks a million for any answers,

this isn't what you were looking for, but i noticed that you use an sblive w/ win2k. using advanced record mode, do you know if it's possible to broadcast the processed sounds?? example, if i want all my mp3's or any music through the LINE-IN to sound like they are in a concert hall or corridor or underwater, etc. (the prepackaged sblive effects) can i even do this?? have you tried this??

as for you problem, i will play with mine and see what it does when i push to talk. if it gives me the same crap i'll let you know. that's pretty weird though. all i can tell you that might somehow be related to this, is that i've been having probs with winamp under win2k in the sense that when i adjust winamps volume, it adjusts the WAVE volume for the entire system. never had this prob under 98/me. no one has been able to answer me that one either.
