Yesterday we set up NexMix on a new server that is pretty good in my opinion. It is still on 24 hours afterwords and streaming well. These stats might help someone:
900 Mhz Duron
128 MB RAM
20 GB HD
I paid $699 for it and it was well worth it. It is a great machine. I just have a problem, that problem being SoundBlaster Live! 5.1.
To give you a rundown on what has been going on with SoundBlaster Live! 5.1 with WinAmp:
I set up SHOUTcast on WinAmp yesterday. I am most familar in this tatic and have done it many times. This time it was different. This is what happened:
- When I pressed "Push To Talk/Lock" it would change the volume of the WAV switch. The microphone volume wouldn't move an inch. This sadly would fade my WAV files when it wasn't on. So I had to keep the PTT down while playing.
This just did not make me happy, I know I have to tweak my station a bit on the content side, but this problem is just not that good.
If there is any suggestions, feel free to put them on. I really want to see something good happen on NexMix.
Later Days,
Chris
