Refreshing Current Song

Hi there.

On my site, you can see current song playing. I'm using META Refresh to refresh the site every 30 seconds to show the latest song.

However, I was wondering if anybody new a way to find out if the current song had changed and then trigger a refresh.

So What am looking for is a script that refreses the site everytime a new song begins.

Anybody got any ideas, anything at all :)

Oddsock.org did something similar to what you're asking.

In thier song requester plugin that he published long ago, it had in it internal values in an HTML page that grabbed the time left in the song from Winamp, and used that value in the META tag to tell it when to refresh. So when someone called up the page, it parsed the time on demand, and set the refresh to the remaining time in the song.

Now.. this plugin was a DLL file, and did have to reside on the system that winamp was running.

What I suggest is looking into finding how you can grab the time from winamp from the web, maybe some kind of handle or something. I'm no programmer so I only talk in theories. Good starting point eh?
