Well I downloaded the lastest version and it's as cool as ever. And, the Desktop Mode actually works on my system now. I've got a Radeon DDR (32meg). You have to check the "try for RGB overlay..." box and voila!

I mean it's not perfect, but the performance hit is _way_ smaller than I expected it to be.

Awesome. I was suspecting that some ATI cards would fare better with that option; they tend to prefer RGB overlays to YUV.

Ah, well that explains why it also works on my laptop at work. It has some (in most other ways crappy) ATI chip as well. Rage II? I can't remember.
