after reading through all the documentation that comes with this, i noticed how it said to try running it in 32 bit to see how it goes.
My monitor settings are at 32 bit, but in the config box for milkdrop, it only lists about 10 different resolutions for 16 bit.
am i missing something or doing something wrong so that i don't see a 32 bit option in the config section?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

same here. i'm running win2k (build 2195) with DirectX 7.0 (4.07.00.0700), video: 3dfx Voodoo3 (driver version 5.0.2080.1).

The Voodoo3 (or lower) only supports 16 bit in 3D applications (like Milkdrop). The windows desktop is only 2d, so 32 bit is possible there.
My last video card was a Voodoo 3 too, but only because of Milkdrop I bought a Kyro II (TV-Out). No problems at all, think about it.

....And please no V3 22 bit filter rant here.
