Hi

I just bought a new PC with a SBLive! Player 5.1. I thought working together with my speakers (Cambridge Desktop Theatre 2500) also 5.1 speakers I should hear AMAZING Dolby Digital. So I connected the soudcard with a SPECIAL Digital-Din Cable especcially for Dolby Digital 5.1 to the speakers and... nothing just analog input. I was shocked and so I searched the Internet for a reason. I found one. This Sound card cannot decode Dolby 5.1 just, how to say (German), pull the Signal through the DSP. I read that the decodin has to be done by an external program like Power DVD 3.0. But I don't want to listen to my MP3 with Power DVD.

And now, finally the question: Is there any plugin for Winamp that can decode to real Dolby Digital 5.1 ??

And don't say anything like, "but mp3 just has two channels". Yes I know but I once listened to an MP2 File I converted for my DXR3 DVD Decoder card and these two channels really souded fantastic and it was Dolby Digital 5.1

Please help me

don't use the directsound plug-in and see what happens

i think thats only 2 speaker compatable also what sound card do you have??

their might be a variable to play everything in 5.1 you need to play around a bit coz winamp won't play with your DXR3 card.

He, stay cool.

I'm no asshole.

And, very interesting what you said but how can I activate this option on my SB Live! ??

And do I really hear 5.1 Sound better said Dolby Digital with the Sound System.

Please answer - Asshole!!!!!

Or do you mean this simple option to switch between Headphone, 4 Speaker etc.??
Setting it to 5.1 doesn't really help.
If you mean anything else please say so
